Renewables - the little purple sliver

Here’s an interesting Flickr slide I noticed this evening. It shows the percentage of the US energy supply for various types of energy…since 1850. As the photo’s description notes, “Renewable energy is the little purple sliver in the upper right that you can barely see yet.”
Look real close…the sliver is there in the 1990’s and 2000’s. And if the trend continues…..
Notice the hydro (blue) sliver, too. Fairly consistent and long-lived.
